Battle of Great Bridge

Commemorate the victory at Great Bridge on December 9, 1775, with battle re-enactments, character portrayals, displays and demonstrations.

Saturday & Sunday, December 5-6 from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wreath-laying ceremony is at the D.A.R. Memorial at 11:30 a.m. at City Hall.

Citizen Alert for Leaf/ Yard Waste Pick-up

Due to the recent Nor'Easter storm, leaf pick-up and yard waste collection may be delayed through December 15. Questions can be referred to 382-CITY.

New Big Bin Recycling in Chesapeake

Chesapeake City Council voted to implement the improved recycling program in budget year 2009-2010.

The City will be rolling out approximately 2,200 big bins each day starting the week of November 9th through December.

Street Sweeping Schedule Online

Checkout the online Street Sweeping Schedule for December 2009 to see when your neighborhood will be serviced.

The sweepers will be in the appropriate areas between 8:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. Sweeping can be more effective if cars are moved off of neighborhood roadways during these times.
