Bureau of Community Programs

The Bureau of Community Programs consists of four (4) areas of service.

Customer Contact Center

Effective July 19, 2005, the Customer Contact Center began transforming the way Chesapeake delivers services by providing customers with more personalized service, faster problem resolution and easier access to knowledgeable assistance. Customers can now dial one easy telephone number to receive assistance and information on a wide range of City services. To reach the Customer Contact Center, dial 382-CITY, that's 382-2489.

Office of Housing

The Office of Housing serves as the resource center related to workforce/affordable housing, homelessness, housing for the elderly and the disabled. The office administers the federally funded programs such as: Community Development Block Grant, Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program Funds, the HOME Investment Partnership Entitlement Funds, the American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) and the Continuum of Care (CoC.) homeless services funds.

Office of Neighborhood Coordination

The Chesapeake Office of Neighborhood Coordination coordinates revitalization efforts and connects residents to services and information to enhance the quality of life in the City of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Office of Youth Services

The mission of the Office of Youth Services is to coordinate, enhance, and promote the best community services and resources for children and youth through multi-facet approaches.
